Frustrating Prolonged Claim
I have been patiently waiting for a response from Hybrid for almost two months now. I am honestly dissatisfied with how my claim is being handled in its entirety with a lot of back and forth that aids no results or feedback. This has caused a lot of inconvenience on my end. On the 11th of July whilst driving home (on a road that I use on a daily basis) a sand rock got trapped under my vehicle (due to an ongoing construction). I immediately parked on the side of the road to avoid further damage. This is how things unfolded from there on. • First thing I did was to call my broker Callo from Runis Campher and informed her. She then said she would contact a tow truck to collect the car. • Car was towed to PSC (Patrix Service Centre) which was my preferred repairer. • Callo requested for the damage report and quote • PSC submitted the damage report on the 11th July • 15th July the 1st assessor from CMB (Collision Management Brokers) went to PSC and also requested for the quote to repair. • 17th July the 1st quote was submitted & HRM asked for a price reduction • 18th July the revised quote was submitted. • The assessor recommended a company that PSC should source from to help reduce the price further. • However, PSC could not use the recommended supplier as they offered 2nd hand parts. • Few days later a 2nd assessor also from CMB went to PSC to inspect the car Stunt 1 • 22nd July Hybrid Risk Management (HRM) asked for clarity on whether the car was towed at home or by the roadside – I gave them clarity with evidence. Stunt 2 • 24th July HRM ask for a full month tracker record which I provided Stunt 3 • 12th Aug I received a call from my broker Callo questioning why I gave PSC authority to strip my car engine – which I notified on email that I did not. Stunt 4 • 14th Aug I received a call from Jacques a private investigator for HRM. • 15th Aug morning I met Jacques at the accident scene. He asked me questions and I cooperated. • 15th Aug during the day PSC called to inform that Jacques came to assess the car. • 3rd assessor went to PSC with Jacques to do ANOTHER inspection These events all contribute to my frustration due to the inconvenience. Even though I have been issued a courtesy car I am unable to fully perform my work duties. I cannot travel as I wish because I have to consider that should the unfortunate occur I will be financially liable. Moreover, I have been receiving calls on a daily basis from PSC because they want to start charging for storage since there is no way forward. HRM is dragging the verdict which imposes further frustration. On the other hand, I have been receiving endless calls from the car rental company needing to collect their car. Even though HRM would authorize for daily extensions, this still hinders how I plan my days. I have been patient enough and I am now demanding answers. What is causing the delay? The main issue here is the price because even my broker mentioned it. I pay insurance to prevent such inconveniences and that’s all I have experienced so far with HRM.
