'Voetstoets' vehicles sold at so called reputable dealership

I purchased a new/used vehicle from the Hillcrest branch in December 2022. The response to specific defects on the vehicle was so poor I was compelled to lodge a complaint to Head office. The vehicle was then returned to have these defects attended to, 1 of which was a possible faulty clutch. I received the vehicle & I was informed by the attending agent that the workshop had attended to the clutch even though he was rather vague saying the cable had been sprayed with lubricant. I confirmed thereafter that the clutch 'seemed to be ok' & this was the case for a few weeks after which it started to play up. Please note that there was only 22 000km on the clock. I decided to wait for my 1st service to get a proper analysis of the clutch which was at 30 000km. I was advised from the Pmb branch that a minor adjustment was needed however the clutch became progressively worse. I was compelled to have the vehicle booked in again & was then told the clutch had to be replaced at a cost of over R7000.00. I took this matter up with the manager at Hillcrest through whom the vehicle was purchased who claims that a clutch only has a 1 year warranty on it! I insisted that I should not be liable for the cost of the repairs since I had complained about the clutch from the onset of the purchase. The manager said he would liaise with Pmb branch to see if the repair could be done under a warranty. I was informed this was not the case & the cost would have to be paid by myself. It then came to light that the manager had only queried with the Pmb principle memeber as to why my vehicle was booked in but never actually discussed a resolution to the problem being my complaint. I am.of the opinion that in light of all the other aspects that a thorough inspection was not carried out on the vehicle & basically it was as good as selling it 'voetstoets' to me which is by law not allowed. The fact that a client becomes liable for a clutch after having a vehicle for only 6 months especially whereby the client complained from the onset, the fact that such vehicle having low mileage & already having a problem raises a number of suspicions. I thought that by purchasing a vehicle through a reputable dealership I could trust their authenticity in assuring everything was right but clearly not so. Can someone please tell me whether this is fair? To purchase a new vehicle & within 6 months be told you are liable for wear & tear because they failed to administer the correct repair work from the beginning either to being lazy or being sharks.
