Great Steaks With a Generous Helping of Salmonella at Hussar Grill Rondebosch

<p>I've just returned to Johannesburg after a 3 week vacation in Cape Town with my girlfriend. My parents, sister and brother-in-law also flew out from the to join us.</p> <p> </p> <p>All of us enjoy a steak & based on a few recommendations we decided to visit the Hussar Grill on the evening of 29th December. As expected, the steak was incredible, as was the wine & the service was fantastic. We all went home very happy........and then the vomiting and diarrhea started. 4 people on our table of 6 were affected, the dish in common appears to be the bearnaise sauce.</p> <p> </p> <p>Whilst a nasty dose of food poisoning is unpleasant, the worst part is that this is a rare occasion where the family can spend quality time together. Wasting the holiday in bed sick was not really what we all had in mind. It also really put a major dampener on our New Year celebrations. </p> <p> </p> <p>I called the Hussar Grill the following day and was told they would investigate and call back but I heard nothing further. Awful customer care in my opinion, they were given the opportunity to make a mends and they could even get that right. </p>
