FALSE ADVERTISING, REFUSAL OF SERVICE & FAILURE TO IDENTIFY

FALSE ADVERTISING, REFUSAL OF SERVICE & FAILURE TO IDENTIFY*

*To:* Hungry Lion Head Office / Customer Care *Date:* 8 November 2026 *Branch:* Hungry Lion Park Station *Subject:* False Advertisement of King Combo, Refusal of Service, and Manager Refusing to Identify Herself

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding my experience at your Hungry Lion Park Station branch on *08 November 2026 at approximately 14:02*.

I visited the branch to purchase the *King Combo*, which is advertised in-store as containing *2 drumsticks and 2 thighs*.

Upon ordering, I was informed by staff that the combo is not sold as advertised. I was not offered the advertised product, an alternative, or a reasonable explanation. When I queried this, I was told to take my money and go buy somewhere else.

I then requested to speak to the manager. The manager on duty also refused to assist and *refused to provide her name* when I asked to identify her for purposes of this complaint.

I further noted that *staff members, including the manager, were not wearing name tags*, which made it impossible for me to identify the individuals involved and prevented proper accountability.

Also your staff came to the front with the guy pointing at me who I had to ask him to stop pointing and screaming as I was calm. See CCTV footage for that and tell me is that a good behavior

This conduct amounts to false and misleading advertising in terms of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, and reflects a serious failure in customer service and management accountability.

I respectfully request: - *An investigation* into the advertising and stock practices at this branch - *An investigation* into the conduct of the manager on duty on 08 November 2026 at 14:02, including her refusal to identify herself - *Enforcement of name tag policy* for all staff at this branch - *A formal apology* from branch management - *Corrective action* to ensure the advertised King Combo is sold as advertised, or the advertising is corrected immediately

Please acknowledge receipt of this complaint and advise me of the outcome within 7 business days. Should this matter not be resolved, I reserve the right to escalate it to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud and the National Consumer Commission.

I look forward to your urgent response.

Yours faithfully, Oka
