Not paying deposit back

We rented for 2 yeats from Huizemark. We got a new house so we had to move. We were still in contract. They told us that it is a R1100 cancellation fee and they paid us R1900 back out of the total R6100. Now they say they have to paint the kitchen...we received the house in a very bad state and painted the entire house at our ow cost. The previous tenats were very dirty and we received the kitchen in a bad state. This is not fair that we have to pay gor previous tenants' filthyness! Dishonest and *****ing my money!
