Neglected by the staff and nurses

<p>My father passed away over the week-end. He was supposed to move out at the end of the month, so his family could take care of him, but, he did not make it because he was neglected. He had a stroke a few years ago, and had a stent inserted because his veins were calsifying. I am quite sure the nursing staff know his medical history. However, they did not give him ecotrin / warfarin. I am sorry, but, I consider that gross negligence on their part. Apart from that, the staff stole his money a few times and stole his cell phone a few weeks ago. We couldn't call him the last few weeks of his life. They also removed his bedding on one occassion and neglected to replace it. How is he supposed to sleep without bedding? Thankfully, I continued to visit him, despite the fact that I could not call him on his cell, and I got to say goodbye to him. His advice to me: make sure you do not go to a retirement home when you are elderly. I am sure the same cannot be said for all retirement homes, but, I would not recommend Huis Zonnekus. </p>
