Do your homework

My PC was replaced through Hollard Insurers. I was notified that I can collect my PC from huge PC. When my wife queried the version of processor i.e. 4 5 or 6 series processor she was told by an irate salesperson "Its an i5 Lady!" At the time the latest Intel processor series was 6 (it was about 6 years ago). We knew that we had an i5 5 series CPU. When we fetched the PC I immediately saw that it was an extremely cheap system. The case was probably the cheapest I had ever seen. When I asked the technician to verify the processor version he replies with "It is an i5" When I pressed for more details it emerged that it was a 3 series! I had a 5 series. When I queried this I was told that we had accepted the quotation so there was nothing that could be done. I ended up paying in a lot of money for an upgraded gpu and ram. I had to replace/upgrade the motherboard as their cheap system could not accommodate the newer gpu cards of the time. It is now 6 years later* and I have had no end of trouble with this PC. Buyer beware! If you do not know your stuff you might end up pulling at the short end of the straw like we did.

*I fully realise that a 6 year old pc is considered almost ancient, but I have a 12 year old system that, whilst admittedly slower has not given me one ounce of trouble.
