They don’t care about your allergies!

I have eaten at Hudsons on many occasions, mostly because they offer a wide choice of vegan and gluten free options. I am a celiac and I have chosen to be vegan. I have sometimes enjoyed the food, other times found it to be lacking in lustre. On this occasion, I had ordered a gluten free, vegan burger from Hudsons and they sent me a burger with gluten. When I called to inform them of what had happened, the manager was less concerned about my allergy and more concerned about the cost of the bun, which I was very willing to pay. However the Mr Delivery page for Hudsons did not provide a “carb free” option for these burgers and I had written the instruction under Allergies and Exclusions. Obviously being allergic is not enough for the staff to call and inform you that they will not be able to provide you with what you ordered, instead they simply sent the gluten bun without as much as a notice. This decision was also defended by the manager on duty! I would have been satisfied if they had simply cancelled the order because they couldn’t give me a gluten free bun. Instead they took my money and wasted my time, sent me a burger with gluten which I might have eaten had I not thought to check twice with the restaurant, the consequences of which would have been to my detriment!

I would not advise anyone with serious allergies to eat at this restaurant because it is quite clear that they don’t care about your allergies. When I asked the manager on duty why he didn’t call me, he rep**** that he thought I simply wanted to get a “carb free” option for free. I explained to him that Mr D Food does not have the option to select a “carb free” option, but they have a tab to enter allergies, which is exactly what I did.

Furthermore, he was not willing to send me the correct burger and expected me to pay for the full burger all over again. I am extremely disappointed in this lack of professionalism from what is supposed to be a trusted restaurant who market themselves as being allergy conscious.
