Way over charged for spare parts of olde or discontinue model cell phone

I have a Huawei P20 Pro dual sim and in excellent condition. The phone were just over a year old when it fell and the screen broke. I have been getting quotes since the beginning of 2019 for the screen repair and it was way too costly for me at the time. it's 2021 and the screen are still at a price of R2900. This is ridiculous to spend so much money on a screen of an old model Huawei P20. The phone is still working,but it's only the screen that is black so I can't see. I mean these phones are no longer in the shops but the spare parts are way too pricey.
