Trouble phones that don't last

My Huawei p30 pro just stopped working one day out of nowhere with no warning. Its still under warranty I use it for only personal use. But when I went to the Cornubia Durban store they took the phone inspected it behind the scenes and come back with some story and that I need to pay R3000 to fix the phone. What a total ripe off!!
