No Service from Huawei Cape Town
I have been an Iphone user for many years. I then got a Samsung Smart TV. With Apple, you can not mirror DSTV Now onto the TV, so I decided to get a Samsung A30 phone from MTN knowing that I will be able to mirror DSTV onto this TV. On 21 July I spoke with Abdull who is a salesman at the MTN store in Gardens Centre, Cape Town. I explain to him that i was wanting upgrade my phone to a Samsung and why. He suggested I look at the Huawei P30 lite. I asked if i would be able to mirror from the phone to the TV. He called the Rep from Huawei twice and both times he was assured it would work and i could mirror. I then asked all the staff if I should Take a Samsung or Huawei phone and everyone said Huawei. I received my new phone on 22 July. I was only able to get to the TV on 25 July. I tried to mirror and it showed everything on the TV from the phone, but as soon as i selected a program to watch, the sound was on the TV, but the screen went black. I then got hold of Abdull and told him the phone was not working the way it is supposed to work. He was confused and contacted Huawei in Cape Town. Shani said that I would then need a HDMI cable, which she will give to me and it would definitely work. She and everyone at Huawei, was to 'busy' to bring the cable to the MTN store, so I had to go collect it 31 July. I had to wait a week. I tried the cable immediately and it did not work at all. I don't know what the cable is supposed to do. I contacted Shani and told her the problem. She got someone to call me and we tried options, but nothing worked. I suggested someone come have a look, as I was about 3 kms from them. I have not heard from them about this problem again. No one has followed up at all. Shani kept telling me that she is waiting for someone to get back to her, but that never happened. I contacted her on the first and she told me that she was very busy and no one had time to attend to my problem. I was supposed to get an answer Monday 5 August, but heard nothing, so I contacted Shani again. She seemed to have forgotten about out conversation and tried to accuse MTN of not checking and I reminded her that they had asked the Rep twice. When I said to Shani that nothing had been done and that I was reporting here, she said it was unfair and she had done everything she could. I said to that what is unfair is that I have a phone for the next 2 years which isn't doing what I need it to do. I should have stuck with Samsung. The service from Huawei is disgusting. They make no effort to sort out my problem and i have been told that there is nothing that can be done by it and i must basically live with it. The staff are not trained in the product. i would suggest people think 3 times before going for Huawei phone. They are great phones, but not after sale service
