Huawei Y7 less than 6 months and slow

I bough a Huawei Y7 on the 29/08/2020. I needed a phone with more memory as we have been working remotely since the start of lockdown, and with the lockdown came salary reductions so this was all I could afford. I was so impressed with my phone that my son also changed from Samsung to get him a P30 lite and my husband got him a Y9. To my dismay my phone started giving me problems a month ago, lagging and just being slow. Took it to the Huawei store and they said my screen was faulty, then I replaced it (R1037.30) later. My phone was still slow and I was advised to reset my factory settings (which was a schlep but thanks to Google drive all my info was backed up). Then I was told my ohone is slow due t all the apps on my phone, seriously? I have used 14gb of the 32gb and it is slow already? I am very dissapointed as I have spent like R4 000 on the phone already, and it's now giving me issues in the area that was the reason for me buying it. Please can someone contact me?
