Huawei - inferior products with false advertising and warranty loopholes for known manufacturing defects

The warranty and aftersales support on the smart watches is pathetic. I bought a water-resistant smart watch with swimming tracking feature. I recently found that the calorie monitoring was highly inaccurate, recording 1/3 of the actual calories burned. I had purchased my watch with an extended Huawei warranty, taking the warranty to a total of 2 years for peace of mind.

To my surprise, I was met with unprofessional service, feedback, and daylight *******. I was told that my watch was defective because water entered. I found this absurd since the watch is water-resistant for swimming. I was then told that the watch is not resistant to certain types of water or colours of water. When probed for information on which types of water were not covered and proof that my watch had this type of water; I was met with delays and changes in the justification. I was subsequently told it was due to impact, where once again no proof could be provided. Now, I am told that the water resistance deteriorates over time, and I was referred to a T&C paragraph to this effect.

This is rediculous because Huawei is selling a product with a water resistant claim, but cannot stand behind this claim, and is producing inferior build quality, which they are already aware of, as evident within the aforementioned T&C. This sounds like a known issue, and hence should be highlighted to clients upon purchase.

At this point, I am quoted more than the replacement price for repairs. Save yourself this headache and waste of money - stick to other major brands like Garmin, Fitbit, Samsung, Apple. Huawei is a joke.
