Huawei destroyed my driveway

Hi,

I live in Norwood, Johannesburg and after returning from work at 5pm on Tuesday the 15th of February 2017, I was stunned to find a massive gaping hole directly in front of my driveway leading into my garage. There were men dressed in municipal clothing (blue overalls) carrying out work on the cabling underneath my driveway. The supervisor overseeing these men happened to be there. This gentleman whose name is Jones, upon inquiry, informed me that he and his team of men who destroyed my driveway are contractors who work for Huawei and are installing fibre infrastructure in my area, which required them to dig beneath my driveway to access the cabling.

I was given NO PRIOR NOTICE by Huawei or any of its representatives that fibre infrastructure was going to be installed on my street and more importantly that they were going to have to DESTROY my driveway leading into my garage in the process.

Mr Jones said that he tried ringing the doorbell on the day that were going to commence digging which was at about 4:30pm on Tuesday the 15th of February 2017. Is 30 minutes Huawei's idea of prior notice????

City power has the decency to leave a notice on your door weeks prior to them having to disconnect your electricity for whatever reason and Huawei, who I always assumed had more intelligence, would go out of their way to ensure that their customers came first. In this case, clearly not. I am a customer of Huawei and probably won't be in the near future given the experience I have described.

As a result of this hole, I have been horribly inconvenienced. I am now forced to park my vehicles OUTSITDE on the street and risk having them vandalized or ******. I am certain that if this did happen, Huawei would pay no compensation whatsoever or assume any responsibility. Not to mention the aggravation and annoyance of having to experience this every day.

Be certain that I will be informing as many newspapers and media outlets, radio stations and anyone else that is prepared to listen about my experience if Huawei does not promptly and satisfactorily rectify this situation.
