Hauwei P8 Lite problems

During 2016 my P8 Lite fell. A crack appeared on the bottom edge and it is the most faintest crack on the edge which is also part of the screen. The phone also does not switch back on.

The issues start with the after sales support...

As the phone is under contract with Vodacom for 24 months, i approached vodacom with this issue. After a battle with them to get the phone booked in, i was told that there is a crack on the screen and to have the phone repaired or replaced, it will cost me R1900. I collect the phone as this is the cost of buying a new handset.

I then approached Hauwei repair centre in Melrose Arch. Expalined the issue and got told by the consultant there, it will cost R1553 to have repaired.

As this is not a flagship P8, but the LITE version, there not much of a support base for this phone to be repaired or looked at, without having to fork out large sums of money.

End result is, i have a phone on contract which cannot be used. After sales service which is very poor for the brand, unless its a flagship model.

Past experince with an issue with a phone, Samsung delivered with minimal costs....

So question is....do i stay with a brand or go back to a brand that worked for me....Looks like Samsung it is...
