Disappointed and regretful

-Before purchasing the phone I contacted the Huawei client services number regarding the Huawei Mate 20.pro - I was informed that it qualifies for a free screen repair and also, once the the Huawei ID/HI Care App registration was completed, there was a notification of the free screen repair that the device qualified for and was there whenever I went into the app so it was reassurance to me of the different perks and benefits of the device. After the auto updates on the apps, this banner no longer appeared when opening the support app -the screen was supposed to have been protected by gorilla 10 glass, but after 1 drop the screen cracked -I contacted Huawei Support and much to my dismay was informed that phone didn't qualify for a free screen repair - I then called the Huawei customer care line and was told that only the models of the same device which were purchased within a specific month (around 6 months later than I had purchased mine) qualified for the free screen repair, even though I insisted that I knew what I had heard and seen - The cost of the repair at that time was going to cost around R3000 but I was informed that Huawei offered special promotions at times where the screen repairs would go on sale for a fraction of the price so after arguing and trying to get my point across seemed fruitless.I decided to avoid any further conflict with the person who was just doing their job and dudbt make the rules up, as I am not that type of a person, I decided to wait for these specials - To further aggravate the situation, whenever these specials were on promotion, the Mate 20 pro was never listed -I then also seen insurance offered, but again, for devices which were purchased after a specific date -My frustration heightened when the price of the screen then suddenly spiked to R4800 My question is why is the phone which was the flagship model at the time, being treated like the red headed stepchild of Huawei? I anticipated and purchased the phone due to the technology and unique special features and expected the same promise of service delivery as its competitors which I was used to. If I knew how this trust would be compromised and how I would have been given the run around, I would have rather made a different choice. Why are the individuals who put their trust into the Huawei brand by purchasing their latest and greatest model at the time being penalized for doing so??? We are offered literally no support and leaves such a bad impression that future prospective buyers should be made aware of these things and insist for everything to be given in actual writing so that they have proof as Huawei cannot be trusted or re**** on with their promises which are on a digital platform of any sort. I'm deeply disappointed as this phone cost R20000 at the time and to fork out almost R5000 on just a screen repair when one was informed that it would be covered, is totally ridiculous.
