BEYOND FED UP !!!!!

Not even worth a one star.

On the 7th of August 2026 I did an upgrade at the Vodacom Store. Upgrade had been due and being a Huawei user for over 7 years. I trusted my brand. And was very eager to upgrade to the Huawei Pura 80 Pro.

I've been using the P50 Pro for 4 years now. And know my way around the software and how to go about setting up my device.

I returned home (60km from the Vodacom store) and started with my device set up. I realised that Whatsapp can be installed , however a delay in messages. During the course of the weekend I realised that the device is losing connectivity. Connected to mobile data and Wifi. Same issue.

I was advice by Huawei Support to take the device to the nearest Service Centre (Edward street, Cape Town). Unfortunately the 10th of August was a public holiday and the 11th I had to attend a few meetings. On the 12th of August 08:10 I arrived at the service centre. After spending over an hour and a half there, they advised to have the device taken back to the store of purchase as this is an OBF. The guy that assisted me wrote a note to say what is wrong (whatsapp and internet connectivity) and his words were "this is a flagship device and I have never seen this issue before" . - Yes I can provide proof of this note.

Got back to the Vodacom shop and booked the device in. Two days later I called in to the repairs to ask for feedback, and was advised that the device was booked in under 1st year warranty and not OBF. I had to phone the store and inform them about their error.

The advanced repair centre (ARC) rebooked the device again. Device came back as no fault found (NFF). I requested a report from the repair centre as to what diagnostics they did and based on what did they come to the conclusion that no fault was found. The same day I was advised that the Vodacom store should re book the device and ATT to a Deon who will assist at the ARC.

A few days later the device came back again with a NFF. And again no proof can be given about what tests they are doing or how they go about.

Eventually the manager at the Vodacom store started to escalate as I told them I do not want a faulty device and they should revers the upgrade. I was told that unfortunately if Vodacom does not get credited for the device they will not be able to reverse the upgrade. Meaning I will just have to deal with a faulty device until the contract term ends.

Been contacting Huawei, speaking to different consultants. Being told they can't do anything this is all on Vodacom's side. Vodacom needs to sort out the issue, the one lady even told me just use the device maby the issue has resolved itself.

The device has been booked in. 4 job numbers later and 40 days later. No one can answer any of my questions. I had the device for 4 days. I do not want a faulty device. I do not care if the store gets credited or not. Why should i be paying almost R900 per month for something that is not to a standard that it should be. Why is there absolutely no communication. RAM took 5 days to collect the device from the store. If I wanted a defective phone, I would've stuck to the device I am using now. Or if I wanted a phone that is refurbished , I would've bought one.

40 days - no answers. I need answers and I need them fast. The bill is due on the 25th and I'm expected to pay for something I don't have. Disgraceful and disappointing not only Vodacom but with Huawei as well.

I phoned in yesterday (21/09/2026) at 11:05 - I was told no technician has been assigned. Called again at 16:23 and guess what , still no technician is assigned. How is a person supposed to remain calm. Received communication to say again nothing is wrong with the device. BUT why is there nothing wrong according to Vodacom, but at the service centre the guy was shocked about the problem

Huawei is stating that they are unable to assist as this an Vodacom issue and they have nothing to do with Huawei. But how can you allow a store to sell your brand and not offer support. How does Vodacom sell a brand called Huawei but Huawei cannot help with Vodacom.

I am able to provide all job numbers, all communications, all phone calls , all emails. EVERYTHING.
