Bad service and dalse advertising
I called Hauwei call center mid-September, enquiring on the prices of their screen repair for a P20 Lite. The consultant who assisted me informed me, very exicitably, that Hauwei was running a special on LCD screen repairs, as well as back cover repairs. I was told that I would pay just over R200 for the front and back repair, as per their promotion that was running between 21 September and 30 September.
When I called back on the 22nd of September to confirm the special before taking my phone in for the repair, I was told that I must have been mistaken and that the P20 Lite was never part of the promotion.
Confused, I called back again to find out whether the calls were perhaps recorded so that I could prove that this was the information that was given to me. On the third phone call to Hauwei, I was told yet another story, whereby the Hauwei P20 Lite was part of the promotion, but was removed a few days later by head office.
I have since emailed Hauwei’s customer care/ help desk and complained, after which I received a few emails from Lungile, containing screen shots of the pricing for the repair. I then told Lungile that I do not need the pricing, but rather a solution to my problem. I have to date not received further communication or a phone call from customer care to explain the matter or apologise.
Since I cannot go about my daily tasks without the use of my cell phone, I, in desperation, decided to go to Hauwei Somerset West to have my screen repaired, on the 26th of September. Upon arrival, I was told that the particular LCD screen for my phone is out of stock and would take 2-3 weeks to arrive, once ordered. The cost of the LCD screen repair being around R 650. I definitely could not wait this long for the repair, so decided to go to Hauwei in Canal Walk for the repair. A few hours before doing so, I thought I’d call and confirm whether there was stock of my LCD screen. This was, yet again, a failed attempt at receiving sufficient help from Hauwei. I called the *** number and was told that they could not confirm what the stock was and that they also could not give me a direct number for this particular branch, as their phone weren’t working or some similar excuse.
So, here I go, taking the long drive to Canal Walk to have the urgent repair done. When I eventually arrived at this store, I was then quoted R 1 200 for the LCD screen, a whopping R 550 more than what I was quoted for THE EXACT SAME REPAIR.
I am now using a cell phone with a screen where barely anything is visible, which is effecting my daily tasks at work, as well as the general pleasure that comes from using a Hauwei cell phone.
I can with utmost cer*****y say that this is, by far, THE BEST device which I have had. Sadly, I am due for an upgrade in November and am strongly considering moving to a different brand, as to avoid all of the hassle, lack of communication and all around poor service.
