A phone that died two weeks after purchase and Huawei is giving me a run around, they are not giving me a straight solution.
It's a pity there is no 0 review I was going to choose that. I bought a Huawei Nova 10 online on the 27th of July 2023 and it was delivered on Monday the 31st of July and the phone worked for a week and a half, basically two weeks as it stopped working on Monday the 14th. I tried rebooting the phone, it didn't respond, then immediately went on the website to get the contact details for customer service. I couldn't get the numbers directly as it required me to create a profile to sign in, just to get the contact details.
The following day on the 15th around 9/10am I tried to call the one in Kareedouw and it didn't go through, it does not exist. I then got the call center number and after I called the call center, they advised I go to the nearest Huawei center and the technician will assess it same day as I told them the phone stopped working on the telephonic conversation and I wouldn't be comfortable with repairs as the phone is still brand new as it broke down in two weeks.
When I arrived a Huawei center in Melrose, the assistant lady told me that they are the repair center, and they can only book my phone in for repairs, and I clearly stated that I can't have a phone that broke down in two weeks to be booked in for repairs as it shows that the phone has a factory fault. I am not comfortable with the repairing part, and they told me they can't help me at the store till they called a call center, and I was provided with an email address for escalation for further steps as I asked that either I get a new phone as the fault is with the manufacturer or give me a refund.
I am extremely disappointed with Huawei on how they wanted to solve the situation by booking my phone for repairs as they wanted the situation to favor them by using the 7-day return policy as I stated that this phone is barely 3 weeks old. I was hoping when I went to the center, I would get a solution rather than being told countless times about the 7-day exchange rule which only favors the company and I clearly understand the 7-day rule, but my phone broke down in two weeks after purchase.
I would gladly wish to get a solution that will also be fair to me as a customer than being told about repairs and 7-day exchange rule as I had mentioned before the fault is totally on the Huawei not me as I bought that phone for my daily convenience as I trusted the brand but right now, I am truly disappointed.
They gave me an email address that bounced back when I sent and their website doesn't have customer support email only their call center number.
