Disappointing experience

I had a disappointing experience with an appliance repair team recently. They initially promised to provide an assessment and quotation before starting any work, but instead, they completed the repair without offering a quote and then insisted on immediate payment before leaving.

Additionally, the cost of the parts was significantly marked up. For example, I was charged R1000 for a washing machine door lock switch, whereas the manufacturer’s repair team quoted the same part for under R300. When I raised my concerns with the manager about the lack of a prior quotation, I was told that if I wasn’t happy, they would come and remove the door lock from my machine.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending their services to others.
