On 20 December 2019 issued a telephonic quote of R4400.00 based on photos of residence. Following day two sub contractors arrived at premises with a non- registered vehicle loaded with thatching grass but no materials. Warren was contacted and quote was changed due to inaccurate assessment of photos as requested and sent to him via whatsapp. Besides quote being changed to R5700.00 he also asked if the necessary materials could be purchased and subtracted from initial sum. His sub contractor was taken to Builders Warehouse where equipment amounted to R1480.00. was purchased. Halfway through the roof thatching we were contacted for another increase in quote creeping towards R8000.00 after which R1480.00 plus R1700.00 already had been paid, finally raised the eyebrows and obviously was declined. Sub contractors could neither return to Florida, nor the following day, back to site due to lack of funds. We were once again asked for a advance which was done and sub contractors were never heard of again. Despite all promises made by Warren, to complete thatching of roof with a 9 month guarantee if another R1000.00 could be paid up front, which again was done, i am over Christmas sitting with a leaking roof, yard full of grass and huge hole in my pocket! ***
