I was recently de*****ed by a company selling musical instruments. When I saw the item I wanted I went to the website https://digitalmusicstore.co.za/ saw the products and even created an account and added it to my basket. They send me a professional done email with the banking details where I need to pay the money. The prices comparison to Takealot was a little cheaper but Takealot did not have the specific product. I called them and someone answered and said I was just creating an account. The IT person in me wanted to check if this company was legit. I emailed them and they answers all the concerns. I check on Facebook and they had a profile and even a WhatsApp service. On the website, they even had a courier service called SouthSpeed. After all my checks and balance I decided to make the payment into a Thyme Bank Account. They send an email once the payment reflects they will ship the product. The next day they informed me the parcel will be shipped and I will get it on the weekend. Received an email the next day from South Speed Courier for some insurance deposit that needs to be paid, I ignore the email because I never paid any deposit when I buy from Takealot. Wait for the package and nothing arrived. I emailed South Speed Courier to ask where my package is they informed me about the previous email that I ignore about the insurance as soon as I pay this the package will be delivered. Alarms bells started to go off I type in the courier service into Google and saw someone else's posted with a similar **** using another Courier companies name. I took the post emailed them that this is a **** and never heard from them. Although I lost R3k this is a lesson that even experienced IT people can be ****med. These people are so organized because the emails look so legit because they have Facebook, Whatsapp, Courier Service, and website presence. I used my skills to take down the https://digitalmusicstore.co.za/ domain. But I saw on Facebook they changed the email address to *** account. I am posting this to make others aware of this ****.
