Dont trust an HP warranty! There is no such thing!

I wanted to inquire if my experience with HP is normal.
I took my unit into HP store Sandton, South Africa. It is still under warranty. The wifi has had an issue, and I checked on the net that it could possibly be because there is an issue with the model.
So, I go to the HP store, fill out forms (because the PC is still under warranty), and they present me with a bill for R250 \handling fee\"!!
Now I am no expert...but is this what HP means by a warranty? If this is how much trust you guys have in your own products...then maybe the premium for Apple is worth it."

Hello craigeustace,

hi Craig

Please accept my apologies for the confusion regarding the handling fee process that you encountered in our store. This fee is completely separate from the one -year warranty that comes with an HP computer. This is our (HP Store) internal admin charge for managing the repair process of your laptop. The repair centre is a third party company (called Ensure) located in Midrand. The charge will include checking in, transportation of your unit to and from Midrand, and the time involved in following up on your repair so that it gets back to you in time.

I apologise that this was not communicated properly to you in store, and I am more than happy to refund this charge to you. Could I ask you to send your banking details to *** and I'll get it repaid to you.

I'll also re-look at this charge internally.

regards
