I used Howling Star (Middelburg, Mpumalanga) for pool pipe repairs and a small door glass replacement. The workmanship was not to an acceptable standard. The pool piping repair failed after multiple attempts and had to be abandoned. The glass replacement involved a small 60 × 30 cm steel-frame panel, and the initial installation was done incorrectly and had to be redone. The first attempt left putty smeared on the frame and paving. My main concern is the price charged for the glass replacement. The final amount exceeded R1,000 for a very small and simple job. Labour and transport charges were not clearly disclosed upfront, and the original quotation was presented as one all-inclusive price. For comparison, a professional glass company quoted approximately R650 all-inclusive for the same work. I attempted to resolve this directly with the supplier, but the pricing dispute remains unresolved. I am sharing this to seek fair resolution and to inform other consumers about my experience with workmanship quality and pricing transparency.
