Missold event Halloween party

We went to The Secret Halloween Party on 25th October 2019 in Hout bay. The event was advertised as being in the Lichtenstein Castle an iconic invitation only destination. We e-mailed Howler before attending their event asking specific questions regarding available food, Whether there was a full bar available and the dress code. Being a Halloween Party we were encouraged to dress to impress in Halloween costumes in what should have been a fabulous setting for such an event. On arrival at the Castle we were told that we could not access the castle, our main reason for attending the event! We had invited friends to share this experience with us and were left feeling embarrassed having spent ZAR 1000 each on a ticket. The party was actually just an open air DJ's set on the lawn, hardly worthy of the ticket price. We were not allowed to take photos! Howler even placed stickers over our phones camera to prevent this. Most guests had spent time and money on Halloween themed costumes/outfits, Gory make up and props we couldn't record the moment due to their no photo policy. They only offered a limited bar, another disappointment, We spoke to lots of people at the event and most voiced their disappointment at not being allowed into the Castle. We have requested a full refund and know of others who are doing the same. We won't be attending a Howler event in future.
