Review for Carlswald Luxury Apartments / Houss Rentals

I am extremely disappointed with the service at Carlswald Luxury Apartments / Houss Rentals. The management has repeatedly engaged in ******* and ********* practices, including ******** electricity disconnections as a means of enforcing rent payments.

Despite the Rental Housing Act clearly prohibiting landlords from disconnecting essential services, they have cut off my electricity multiple times without following the proper legal process. According to my lease agreement, I should have received a formal breach notice with at least 7 days to remedy any issue, yet no such notice was provided.

Additionally, rent is paid in advance, meaning they have denied services that have not yet even been rendered. Their claims that rent can be “loaded onto the utilities account” are highly questionable and misleading. This is not only a violation of tenant rights but also a clear act of ************.

The lack of professionalism and disregard for tenant rights and South African rental laws is unacceptable. I strongly advise against renting from this company unless they change their approach and start treating tenants with fairness and respect.
