Bahari Lifestyle Apartment - Houss Rentals: Worst management ever!

We've only been here for less than a year and our experience has been bitter-sweet. You will be sold a dream and on delivery, nothing close to it. You will enjoy on surface because indeed the units are lovely, pool, play area, gym etc, but where it matters the most, you will be frustrated. You will be overcharged for water and electricity, SmartMeter will bill you while you're away for weeks! When you have services issues, you will email, call, text, visit the office and not be assisted by a long shot, particularly by the estate manager Basil Niemand. He is ******, two-faced, non-responsive and all he will say is "There's nothing I can do, I wait for an instruction from head office". I reached out to head office for security gate access after being ignored by Basil and I was sent a screenshot of correspondence and so Basil just did not do his job among many. A black friend of mine has a dog on 2nd floor and they gave her "7 days" to remove the dog (which is not on contract) while other white tenants have dogs on the same floor and have not be paraded. They will cook up rules on the go and of course those rules are applicable by race and level of emergency on the matter. That's just one among many complaints within the estate such that every month there's tenants shuffling, others leaving and others coming it. Ow and an important notice: you will never get your deposit when you leave, let alone fully and you will not get anyone answering to you when you reach out, I have friends who were victims of that and so what I did to avoid that is to get off debit order which I was told it is compulsory until I pointed it out on the contract that I have an option. If you don't know your contract clauses, you will be bul**** and **** to.

It is fair to mention that head-office can be helpful but it doesn't suffice that I am in an estate in Cape Town and my estate agent, estate manager cannot answer to their management duties until (if they do) head office from JHB steps in.
