Farmers are worse than salesmen "Housewives Market"
<p>We produce Aquaponic Lettuce, when approaching the Housewives Market in Lyttelton to show our produce to them I was met with major disrespect. Firstly slamming the glass door in my face. Thinking tht he is busy or a call I waited. He left the glass office and walked around the store and eventually asking me if he could help. Explaining that we produce lettuce he said that I should speak to someone else and waved his hand in a direction. As I turned to walk to where he directed me he said he has no time for salesmen, answering him I said I'm a farmer and he rep**** even worse. I asked him where he thinks all his produce is grown and he told me to get out of his shop. Unbeleivable that this is the attitude of a fresh produce market towards Farmers on which his livelyhood certanly depends </p>
Zuma Syndrome at Housewives market. It amazes me that the management has not responded to the comments made about Farmers on who their livelihood depends. I suppose because they buy their goods at Pretoria fresh produce market and never face the producers, they can just giggle, like Zuma. It might be interesting one day when you realise that the produce comes from the farmer. I’m sure that the buyers of their produce are also those that niggle with the market agents so much to push down the prices leaving the farmer with nothing.
