Lodge in Paarl

I and my partner were booked in the "House of Plein" in Paarl from 26-28 November. I was not happy with the stay. There was a towel as a curtain. They had so much dust on the cupboard and we noticed that when we took the laptop bag down, it was filled with dust. This cupboard was to high to notice the dust. There was load shedding of which I feel they should communicate the times of the loadshedding so that we are aware as to when we ill be affected. We came to our cottage after being out for the day at about 9pm to find out we were in darkness, there is no generator so we hoped to at least have candles, there was nothing. The staff were busy braaing outside our cottage and did not seem that concerned to get us any lighting instead were told that they don't have candles. They carried on braaing and drinking whilst we tried to sleep seeing we could not see anything. I tried to put the bedside lamp on seeing that my partner was sleeping and it was not working. there was another bedside lamp in the room of which i plugged next to my bed seeing there was no other plugs i could use and the other bedside lamp was not working either. The coffee, sugar and powdered milk was placed in jars which looked dirty, they were not sealed and we were too scared to have coffee or tea. They should rather get the sachets, this will also prevent anyone from putting funny things in the jars. The internet signal was very bad and I had to go to the main house to work on my laptop. Was given x2 towels and was a bit difficult to use when having a shower. Bedding and towels were not changed for clean ones, room was never attended to during out stay. The parking is very primitive, have to use a key to unlock and lock the chain around the gate, which is also compromising the safety of the patrons whilst having to stop the vehicle in the driveway to lock the gate. The entrance to the parking has no signboard indicating the entrance to the lodge. The fridge was not cold enough and the milk we purchased went off. For the amount of money they charge you would expect to get better accommodation and good service. I stayed in 3 lodges for the past week and had no problem with the other 2 lodges. We were very unhappy customers
