What a sad sight , a horrible experience.
Today I would just like to express my feelings and great disappointment at House and home, Cape gate mall. Firstly, the staff are absolutely wonderful all of them, they assisted me greatly. It was also astonishing to see the diversity at the store.
Now let's get to the sad reality, I was going to purchase a few items valued at over R40 000 in cash, however one of the items was not in stock. The lady who assisted me called the warehouse which confirmed they don't have stock and the suppliers do not have any fabric for the item. I then asked her to kindly ask the manager to sell me the display model as I really needed it urgently. He already had a bad attitude once I approached him (saying his busy) but I can go ahead and ask him, he was very disrespectful and saying no he will not assist me there is many other people who are on the waiting list, I said I understand, but it is not like they requested a display model that is now second hand, he further said if he let go of that model he would not be able to sell the product, how do you sell something that is out of stock? Just to keep your books in sales going, knowing that the product is not going to get to the clients in months as the warehouse mentioned.
He is a very arrogant man, who still treats staff members like we were in 1993. I have never seen staff being afraid of a store manager like that.
Throwing products around like he owns house and home. Costing the household brand from such stature an over R40 000 sale. May this message get out there, and change the narrative of managers using their position to belittle others.
I'm very frustrated and highly disappointed.
