Phurchased an Item at sale price and wants to charge full price

Hi My wife and I purchased a Defy Dish washer from Hyperama House and home in Lenasia. When we purchased the price was R 3 399.00. Since it was my wife's first purchase on Lay bye, she was so excited that she would pay every month R 500 and finally purchase the dish washer on her own without my assistance.

So she paid as required and upon making a payment, we enquired how much does she owe. to her surprised instead of owing R 1 399, she was advised that she owes R 1 899. Upon further investigations it was told to her that the purchase price was not R 3 399 but R 3 899.00.

A lady at the store checked when she purchased the item and confirmed with my wife that at the time of purchase it was on special for R 3 399.00 and that the Sales person made a mistake by charging her R 3 899 instead of R 3 399. When the agreement was drawn up, we quested the amount and the sales lady confirmed with us that we had purchased the item at the sale price.

So we confronted the manager and advised him about the situation and instead of rectifying the issue, the manager wanted us to pay the current price of the item . We advised him again that this was not our fault but the sales person fault. He contacted the region head and she also insisted that we must pay the current price on the item. The debate continued until we said we want our money back. so they refunded us.

The issue we have is that we were not at fault and that this is really bad customer service. Lastly in todays tough economical cycle, this company does not require any customers as they are happy to let go of good paying customer.
