Hyper House and Home Mayville Pretoria

I have purchased a bedroom set form Hyperama House and Home in Mayville, Pretoria which was underneath a 11 months when a discovered a tear on the Headboard. I took the necessary steps and lodged a complaint whereby I was told the delay was due to lockdown measures. After numerous attempt with the store I was informed that the supplier after browsing the pictures of the damage notified the store that the damage was self inflicted not part of their guarantee, The item is still under HP and I am totally dissatisfied that the Store doesnt carry the warranty as they promised. Is there anyway that I can take them up on this challenge as the store says they cannot do anything as their supplier rejected the repair. I am totally despondent that Hyper House and Home is taking customers who are still paying an installment for an item as idiots and are not providing decent after service of their products. Is there anyway I can lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman as I feel as if they ripped me off as the product is still under HP. The management at the store state that they cannot help new
