HOUSE & HOME - LEARN THE MEANING OF THE TERM EX-STOCK

I did an online purchase of 2 Fridge Surge Protectors from House & Home on 22 July which were "Ex-Stock" N1 City - New Order # ***, with a turnaround time of 7-10 days. On the 26th I was advised that N1 City didn't have stock (OF AN EX-STOCK PRODUCT) - I duly informed them that Ex-Stock means you have the item IN THE STORE!!

On the 29th I was advised that the stock was lying in PE and awaited collection whereafter it will be delivered to N1 City. On the 11th August I received notification that none of the Western or Eastern Cape branches have stock and I would be updated.

It's almost a MONTH and House & Home have been sitting earning interest on R600 of MY MONEY!!!!

I expect a FULL REFUND WITH INTEREST to be paid to me by close of business on Monday 15 August.

WHY HAVE SOMETHING ON YOUR WEBSITE AS EX-STOCK WHEN NO BRANCH HAS STOCK. As a matter of interest for House & Home's information...

"Ex-stock refers to goods which are available immediately from a supplier's stock-holding and, therefore, can be sent to customers with little or no lead time – other than the time it takes to deliver them"
