House & Home - After Sales Service
I bought a Defy washing machine from Blueroute Mall house and home. I went and fetched this washing machine myself on the 20th of November 2021 after having been promised telephonically by the store manager and in person by the sales person Lisa that the machine would be delivered for free as I had just finished my layby of my couches which I bought at the same store. When it was time to deliver once I was finished paying off the machine, I was advised that I would have to pay for delivery. I used the machine for the first 2.5 month no problems then the machine started acting up. I went to the store on a Sunday. Advised by the customer care agent they would log a ticket on the Monday as defy was closed for the weekend, 2 weeks had passed no word from the store. I called, only to be told that the person on duty did not log the ticket and then the person who took my call immediately logged my ticket. Another 2 weeks of waiting for defy to arrive the person tested the machine and advised that it may have been water in the machine, but it is working now. Next month or so machine working fine. There after it started giving issues again. I call the store to advise defy needs to check the machine again. I waited about a week this time, the technician checked the machine out and advised he needed to order a part. I waited 2 weeks for the part to arrive, once it did the incorrect part was dispatched. He ordered the part needed again waited about 3 to 4 days for this one to be delivered. Technician removed the faulty part and advised it is ****roach damage on the board. We had fumigated our place in April, the person who did the fumigation advised the type of ****roaches comes from store packages. Presently the machine is still not working after the technician replaced the faulty part, the machine goes on a stops 2 minutes into a cycle. The fast cycle option doubles up the time. I went into House and Home Blueroute 03 July 2022 to advise I want this machine removed from my home and to be refunded to be told by the store manager they had to log a ticket with defy to request a credit. I also told him about the ****roaches, he advised he looked at my address and this could have come from outside the home as I live in a flat. I really do not appreciate this type of response from a store manager after having expressed my absolute frustration with this entire situation. It is now Wednesday 06 July 2022., two full business days have passed, I have received a call from the Defy technician asking if I was available today, but I was at work. He said he would contact me to see if he could come on the weekend. Is this the type of customer service one would get after having bought couches for 10K and a washing machine for 9K? I would also like to further note that I have had to incur the expense of having my home fumigated to get rid of the ****roaches as well as the weekly expense of having to do my laundry at a laundromat because the brand-new machine I bought is not working. I made the decision to buy a more expensive machine because the brand is supposed to be reliable. This has not been the case. I’ve had this machine for 7 months; I’ve had the use of the machine for 3 of those months. I am now also told because of the ****roach infestation I lose my warranty. The ****roaches that are the type that come from a store and not the drain or household roaches. The report from the fumigator was never requested by house and home or Defy.
