House and Home Pavillion is a pathetic excuse for a upper class service provider
My name is Donavon Naidoo. Being someone whose previously from the Retail Sector, as well as 1 whose been PRAISED on numerous occasions on "HELLO PETER" for Service, Professionalism and Excellence, I pride myself on the standards of Customer Services in our Country. I recently went in to House and Home, Westville Pavillion, to make purchases in order to fully furnish the new home which my Mum, Wife, Newborn Baby girl and Myself were suddenly forced into finding. Due to the traumatic circumstances around the abovementioned and the fact that it's the peak holiday season, we were looking to be settled ASAP so that my child's first Christmas wouldn't be a ruined. We were assisted by Sagren who was extremely efficient at getting the Sales and added-on values completed however the moment he'd received my business of just over R40 000.00 he took a staff member who was on break to complete the menial tasks and was off. I had actually rushed in that day because my Mum was promised by him, who also confirmed telepohonically with myself, that the delivery would be conducted on that very day, especially given our unfortunate circumstances. Only when all of the immediately required furniture and appliances were selected and I was completing payment, were we told that the delivery would now be completed the following Wednesday. At that, dissatisfied and disappointed as we were, we had the child to consider, so I amicably accepted and followed through.... At which point I witnessed my earlier mention of him running off and sticking the gentleman on lunch with the labour. After having patiently waited for almost a week, my Mum received a call on the very Wednesday the stock was to come home, that the fridge we selected was the last 1 and display model, even though it had taken hours the previous week for my Wife, Mum and Sagren to look through and specifically select based on availability, as I'd previously given them a go ahead, no matter the cost. I decided that after spending so much I wanted a brand new Appliance so we kindly declined and my family went in to make a different selection. They did and I was asked to come in as there was a price difference and the Credit was to be made back into my Credit Card. When I did so after a few days, I was taken by Sagren who did not seem to wanna lose the R300. 00 rands off the sale and somehow then magically was able to find the first fridge and promise delivery the following day. So the fridge arrived on Wednesday at which point my family was instructed not to switch on until a couple hours later, so my Mum graciously signed and accepted. As the fridge was switched on and the water dispenser filled to cool, we began to notice leaks. She called the store yesterday and when explaining our predicament, the Salesman, Sagren, blatantly told her that she had already signed and accepted so why is she complaining now. I'd like to know who do we go to or how do we ensure at least basic human treatment when these are the sort of things that happen to us these days. After being told what had happened, I completed the customer survey but not a single reply yet. My family went in to the store and still no joy. Is this what people are expected to endure?
