House and Home - Do Not support this store - Customer service appalling

Product: Defy Black gas Stove
Purchase Date: 02/09/2016 – No Stock was availabe
Product picked up on the 04/09/2016

We purchased the Defy Gas stove on the 02 September 2016 at House and Home Arbour Crossing. As there was no stock available we had to wait for product which we fetched on the 04th September 2016 from the store. When the product was received it was packed into the vehicle unchecked by the salesman. Being a big product in a sealed box, he did not inform us that we should open and check the product before we signed the receiving note at the store. The product was taken home and offloaded from a Hyundai i35 on a flat surface.

05 September 2016 – We opened the box to find the product severely damaged. We then phoned the store and spoke to the salesman who asked us to send through the pictures. He informed us that it was handed to the claims department and we would be kept informed on the progress of the claim.

06 September 2016 – Numerous calls were made to manager who promised to follow up but no response was received.

07 September 2016 – We decided to personally visit the store to get a progress report. We spoke to manager whom had viewed the pictures the day before being the 06 September 2016, who now informs us that House and Home are not liable for the damages so he phoned Defy to log a claim to see if the supplier will refund or exchange the product. Defy was to send a technician to our residence to take pictures and do report on the product damages.

12 September 2016 - No response received from House and Home and Defy in the last few days. I had to phone Manager again to find out the status of our complaint.

13 September 2016 - Defy Technician comes to the residence to take pictures and do report. He had informed us of further notice.

19 September 2016 – No Response was received from Defy or House and Home. I phoned manager and he was going to get back to me with feedback on the complaint. Manager did not respond.

20 September 2016 – Phoned House and Home again and spoke to manager who informed us that Defy will not take responsibility for the product.

As from the above report, we have been patient. We have given the authorities (House and Home) time to sort out procedure to our complaint. They have been indifferent, irresponsible and failed to provide satisfactory customer service. They have prolonged this complaint in order to eradicate the problem of their negligence. I am forced to believe that I am being taken advantage off.
I am utterly disappointed and frustrated by the dishonesty of the salesman and Manager of House and Home Arbour Crossing. Due to the lack of communication, I have now incurred even more expenses.

It should be noted that we purchased the product from House and Home and not Defy, therefore House and Home should be liable to replace the product or refund us our money.

We also phoned the Customer care line and sent this email to head office as well.

It Seems all our time and effort is going to waste as House and Home say that when a customer signs for the goods, it is their liability. As a honest customer I am now left with a deep hole in my pocket as it seems i have paid for a prouct that i cannot use as the product is damaged.

Please Help!!!!

Dineshni
