Extremely dissatisfied: R20 000 Defective Couches Purchased from House&Home, Tygervalley

I purchased Rowan 5 piece Chaise Day Bed couches from House & Home, Tyger Valley (Western, Cape Town) in June,2023 at a cost of over R20,000.

Within the first year of purchase, the foam in the seating collapsed and had to be repaired. Despite being well taken care of, unfortunately, the exact same issue has recurred, and after only two years the couches are once again unusable due to the foam completely flattening.

I lodged a complaint again and the branch manager (Anisa) contacted me via email indicating that the couches are no longer under guarantee as they only have 1 year guarantee and there is nothing they can do. I gave her a phone call because I was not satisfied with her email and she was so dismissive and rude and did not give me a chance to speak as she kept on telling me there is nothing they can do.

This is entirely unacceptable given the price and the reasonable lifespan expected from furniture of this standard. I was expecting that all goods sold must be of acceptable quality, durable, and fit for their intended purpose. Couches of this cost and quality failing after only two years clearly fall short of that standard.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service received from House & Home, Tyger Valley . This is entirely unacceptable.
