CHECKERS PAARDEVLEI Checkers, Paardevlei Sentrum, is by far the WORST checkers I've ever been to! 1. With the exception of 2 or 3 staff members, the service is appalling(in all departments). Staff will ignore you, not smile or greet, or do so half ****d, no sense of haste or willingness, eg: managers strolling to "assist" when needed. 2. Monies matters: At each till point is a sign stating that Checkers offers a cash withdrawal service, yet WHENEVER you need to draw money they NEVER have. It doesn't matter what day, what time of the day, the amount you need, they NEVER have the cash. I feel like I have to beg, and then wait, while someone eventually goes looking for the money. Even at the MONEY market, today, they couldn't even give me a R200! When the till was opened, the cashier made sure that I knew her till would be messed around now. When I finally got my measly R200, it wasn't counted with me or even handed to me. She simply put the money and slip down on her screen and sat back with her arms folded. MONEY MARKET: When collecting money that has been sent by someone:- Sometimes one is not aware of the amount sent (eg: might have been sent as a gift) yet you are made to feel like an idiot for not knowing the amount, or not wanting to ask the person that sent said money, what the amount is. It is a MONEY market, with never any money. 3. Products On MANY occasions, when getting something from the bakery, there has been an issue with the products (and service). You don't know if you're going to get super fresh and delicious, ****erally) ROCK HARD and days old, warm and fresh or cold and crumbey. We are (not for much longer) regular customers at Checkers Paardevlei. We switched to Checkers when our previous retailer let us down. We use Checkers Paardevlei as it's convenient for us, because I work in the area. Checkers in general is still our go-to, but Checkers Paardevlei is failing us. Even after informing management about these issues. Never have I ever experienced this level of disappointment in any other Checkers. The 1 star rating is one whole star too much.
