Extremely Poor Service – Checkers Klein Karoo Markt, Oudtshoorn I would like to share the extremely poor service a colleague and I received at Checkers Klein Karoo Markt, Oudtshoorn, on Friday, 3 October 2025 at 09:23. I purchased an item that was clearly marked and advertised at a discounted price. After paying, I realised the discount had not been app****. When I brought it to the cashier’s attention, we waited over 20 minutes for assistance. During this time, we were told repeatedly that “no manager could be found.” Even the security guard confirmed this. No one offered an apology or any feedback, and we saw a staff member walking around with our product, clearly unsure of what to do. Other customers at the Money Market counter were also struggling to get help. Eventually, a manager named Wagenaar appeared, but her attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. There was no genuine apology, and her manner only made the experience worse. It was also noticeable that most cashiers were sitting idle with no customers — perhaps a reflection of why this store seemed so quiet. The overall lack of leadership, customer service, and professionalism was shocking. We left the store feeling disrespected and frustrated. I hope Checkers Head Office takes this feedback seriously and addresses the poor management and service at this branch.
