Appalling Customer Service
My mother, a pensioner, recently visited House and Home in Vereeniging to purchase a heater. To her disappointment, she was told there was no stock available—only the floor model remained. The salesperson, clearly eager to close a sale, proceeded to sell her this used, defective floor unit at full price. Upon unboxing the heater at home, it was immediately clear that it had been previously used and returned. Several parts were missing, including the adjustable knob. Outraged, she returned to the store to report the issue, only to be met with a shocking response: the staff accused her of possibly using the heater and misplacing the parts herself. She was told to leave the heater at the store so they could "look into it." Later, she received a call from the store manager, who casually informed her that the missing knob had been found somewhere in the store and that she should come and collect the heater "as is." This entire experience has been rudely unacceptable. Not only is it appalling customer service but attempts to reach your customer care line have gone unanswered. My mother no longer wants the heater and deserves a full credit reversal on her account—not accusations and second-hand goods passed off as new.
