What a circus and an expensive one at that!

Absolutely shocking! Exec King room at nearly R2000/night and you decide if the experience is acceptable!!! First stay a few months ago. Probably would have rated 4/5. 2nd stay, 5 days ago. Room temp uncomfortably hot. Local keypad over ridden by hotel system and it was in winter heating mode only. Complained to reception. Told to open my window!! 4 am woken up by siren in room. Hotel alarm with pre- recorded message "There is a hotel emergency, wait for further instructions". Alarm kept going off with message being repeated. Eventually, after leaving the room to investigate further found the lift foyer on my floor with a mixture of very stressed and very agitated guests. Apparently there had been a malfunction of a smoke detector but people were not informed that it was a false alarm. Heaven forbid if there had been a fire. When a hotel staff member exited the lift on our floor and was asked what happened, he was really dismissive. No apology either. Asked to see the duty manager when checking out in the morning. Day off!! 3rd stay, today, and only because it was pre-booked and paid for already. Booked into the Exec King only to find it was missing the work desk and chair! Had work to do so phoned reception to report it. Eventually and after talking to the front desk manager was allocated another room which has all the advertised furniture in it. Believe it or not, now the safe is not working. Maintenance tried unsuccessfully to repair it. Will address the problem in the morning. An absolute circus!!!!
