One of our clients stayed at Hotel Krige on Monday, 15 December 2025, and was checked into a room with an aircon that was not working, even though it is currently scorching hot in Stellenbosch. At 02:00am he still couldn't sleep, even though he did report the aircon not working earlier, due to the mosquitoes that came in through the open windows. He then went to the Front Desk and reported it to them again, and their comment where, they take note. They did not present him with an alternative room with a working aircon, or at least a fan for the heat, or even a can of Peaceful Sleep or Tabard. He then went to the garage across from the hotel and bought a can of Doom, sprayed the room, and could only sleep after that. This is absolutely unacceptable, as the room rate for the night was R2 438.02. If he paid R500 for the room for the night, then you could have expected something to this effect, but not for a hotel room of R2 438.02 per night. They did nothing to assist him or compensate for him in any way.
