WHY MY 4 YEAR OLD CANNOT GET GLASSES???

I took my daughter to a pediatrician as she was not well. She was then referred to the optometrist as she had a lazy eye and upon examinations at the optometrist she was found to have a serious condition and she was referred to an ophthalmologist. She was taken there and given drops to test her eyes and so on. She was given a prescription for her glasses. We took her back to the optometrist with the prescription and she was tested and it was found to be the same. Which it is a high prescription. The optometrist called the medical aid and we did not get any assistant, what we were told was that a motivation was required as to why the lenses have a high prescription and why my 4 year old needed glasses. Have they forgotten that I pay the medical aid for my child and if she needs glasses for her condition and they are supposed to be covered by the medical aid so must the medical aid. Now she has to wait for the run around while she is in that condition.
