BAD SERVICE
My wife was diagnosed with severe polymyositis. This illness has impacted my family in a HUGE way. after Many, many tests the doctors decided to treat her with Polygam. After a lengthy motivation Hosmed agreed that the treatment will be covered, but I had to pay a 20% co-payment, (?R2 200.00) every 6 weeks when the polygamy had to be administered in-hospital. Now ?6 months later, the Doctor app**** for authorisation as before and was unsuccessful. After making Numerous calls to Mediscor (the chronic and administration section of hosmed) and call centre, I was informed that we have to wait ?4weeks until the Board sits and decide if our application will be successful. I ask the question what do we do in the meantime, as my wife needs the treatment so that her condition can improve. All I got told that we have to wait when the Board sits (in ?14 weeks). My concern is what happens when my wife's condition deteriorates. she has made remarkable recovery and this treatment is critical for her condition to improve. Hosmed staff only answer is, we have to wait until the Board decides what to do. surely there must be lots of people who are ill and cannot wait for this decision. FRUSTRATED
