Wine glass mended

I accidentally snapped off the stem of s precious wine glass. Luckily it was a clean break, which I unsuccessfully tried to repair with an available adhesive. In the hope that a glassblower could fuse the two parts together, I took it to Glassblower Industries in Honeydew, Johannesburg. Gary told me it could not be fused as this would cause the whole thing to crack because of the type of glass material, but said they would try with a UV-curable adhesive. This they did, and the result is as near perfect in alignment and appearance as can be expected, It took only about half an hour, and he refused payment for the task.
