Honeybee Driving School - BAD BUSINESS

So after passing my Learners License test, I was super excited to get on the road, as I expect every starting out driver would be, right? The next step to get me there was to pick out a driving school. Particularly a good one that stood out above the rest. I landed upon the site of Honeybee Driving School. Everything they were selling was like... Wow, this sounds amazing! Go check it out for yourself. I decided to buy a package deal for 10 Lessons + Drivers Test + Test Day Car Hire for R1 800. My first lesson was on the 28th July this year. So far I've only had 4 lessons to date.

Here's the breakdown...

Lesson 1: My lesson was conducted by a Shaun or Shane. I'm not sure. He's speech wasn't very clear. Firstly, the instructor came 15 minutes late and the condition of the car was bad. The instructor was chatting every now and again on WhatsApp, slouching in his seat. He was not very attentive to what I was doing. Nor did he teach me anything about Exterior and Interior Inspection or the Staring Procedure, only Control of the Car. He seemed to get agitated that I was new to driving but is that not the point of the lesson, to teach me and not get bored? Then came the part where he made me drive with my eyes closed while he just steered... Putting both of us at risks, including the company car. The lesson ended 45 minutes later instead of 1 hour. I could go on but I think you get the point. This was just a shady experience.

I requested a different instructor.

Lesson 2: It went well. Thought I was finally getting somewhere.

Lesson 3: The new instructor is an hour late but the lesson went well. I tried to sympathize as my instructor was coming from a previous lesson but honestly, there should've been better scheduling.

Lesson 4: It went well. I felt relieved. Guess we're back on track…

My new instructor goes on leave. We arrange that we'll continue my lessons once she's returned.

Lesson 5? My new instructor is back. I attempt to schedule a lesson. No response at all. I'm left hanging. I send an email to the office in an attempt to schedule a booking for Saturday or Sunday at 10am. Booking is confirmed. Saturday morning comes. I'm ready to go. No show. At 9:30PM that day, a guy from the school calls to reschedule my lesson for the coming Monday instead. This being my third instructor… Monday morning comes. I'm ready. No show. No call. Nothing.

In conclusion: I’ve wasted so much time, money and effort dealing with this lousy driving school. I’d request my money back for the lessons I haven't received yet but I doubt these ******** will even return a cent. After conducting more thorough research, I found that I’m not the only customer that have experienced this type of ********* customer service from Honeybee Driving School. My advice, stay clear from this driving school. If not, prepare for major disappointment.
