The dealer covers scratches with car polish and never licensed the car with a traffic department.
Firstly, Imperial Honda East Rand covered scratches with car polish before delivering the Honda Ballade 1.5 i-vtec to me. I noticed the coverup within two weeks and reported the matter to the salesperson.
Secondly, the car has been delivered without a spare key. Although, the salesperson promised to courier the spare key, but nothing has been delivered so far.
Thirdly, the description of their online advert available at https://www.cars.co.za/viewVehicle.php?VID= ********** state that “Price Is what you PAY”, but they charged me "on the road" fee. Although, I pleaded with the salesman not to add the charge on the road, but he said that the Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Manager want it and the money will be paid out to him as a commission. Lastly, the dealer did not licence the vehicle although Imperial Honda East Rand collected on the road charge.
The salesperson herein question is Themba Ngubeni. The Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Manager is Sam Lesenyeho.
The vehicle was delivered to me on Thursday 30, November 2017.
I escalated my complaint up to the Dealer Principal (Mr Simon Edwards) and below was his response.
Both the sales person and the sales manager have confirmed that this vehicle was in good selling condition and as mentioned, these scratches could not have be hidden with polish and hence should have been noted on delivery. I have personally seen the invoices for the workshop check aswell as the valet and there are no comments recorded. It is s second hand vehicle and scratches are unavoidable but the degree of scratches that you indicated would have been visible on delivery and noted. In terms of the CPA we are obliged to entertain any latent defects that might arise but with regards to the paint, this would have been visible at the time of delivery and recognised as a patent defect. We will provide a spare key if you did not receive one as a norm.
On the Road is a standard charge across the industry and we do charge on all vehicles unless waivered at our discretion.
There is no such thing, these charges are absorbed into the vehicle costs and certainly not paid out as a commission? The cost of the registration will be refunded once we receive copies of the papers.
