Original or **** aftermarket product fitted?
I purchased a practically brand new Honda CRV in 2016 with only 21000km on the clock from Mcarthy Ford in Silverlakes with everything in working order. However since I have had the vehicle the audio/navigation etc collapsed. It required a software upgrade.Upon my taken the vehicle for the 45 000km service at Honda Hatfield I was informed the warranty has lapsed just a few days ago thus rendering it out of warranty.Even though I mentioned it when making the initial booking for the service. To cut a long story short I asked them to have a look at it anyway and see if they could do a software update.I mean whats to a software update anyhow.Upon my collection of the vehicle I was informed that the system was not a Honda System, but an aftermarket.Wow!!what a surprise to me.I called Honda H/O,they said I should call the dealer where I purchased the vehicle from, because I needed to ascertain now from the previous owner as to what why there was a **** in the car.i called all over, even the place in Northcliff in Jhb where it went for its 1st service.I was just informed that that particulars aint shared.Well eventually the dealer got back stating that they located the previous owner and he claims he bought the vehicle brand new and had nothing done to it.Biiiiiiiiig question now.How is it that my vehicle has a **** aftermarket radio in that has no markings,no serial numbers so I don't even have a clue what software to upload to make it work.Honda called me after I wrote a letter to MIOSA for assistance to get to the bottom of this percu**** event.Since then nobody has contacted me from Honda, the deale, but I will not leave the matter as is.Trust me.I will get to the bottom of this.
