Not taking ownership
Good Day,
Please could I request urgent assistance.
In 2018 I purchased a brand new Honda Ballade from Honda The Glen
On the 28th February 2020, my wife visited a Shell Garage and after a few minutes returned to the vehicle and it would not start. We attempted to jump start the vehicle with jumper cables but the dashboard lights refused to come on and we then contacted Honda Assist and we were advised that we should contact the AA which we did. Prior to loading the vehicle onto the flat bed, the tow truck driver also used some machine to try and boost the battery and the dashboard lights stayed off.
The vehicle was then towed Honda Bryanston who contacted me on the morning of 03rd March 2020 and advised me that the main fuse had been blown. I asked them if warranty covered this and I was advised that they do not. I then contacted Honda The Glen where I had purchased the vehicle and they told me that the vehicle should not be boosted with jumper cables. This was never ever communicated to me when I purchased the vehicle only top be told this now and now I am expected to pay R2200 to have the fuse replaced. I am furious as I have this vehicle less than 2 years and have only done 50000 km’s. I purchased the vehicle brand new in order to avoid such issues only be told this now and I tried Honda as I thought they were a reputable brand. I work for the MFC and have always told people how proud I am to be a Honda owner up to now where I am seriously questioning the fact that information is not communicated when you purchase the vehicle only to be held liable for costs when there are mechanical issues
Please could I request some assistance here as I cannot be expected to fork out so much money when I was also never informed of this when I had purchased the vehicle.
