HONDA MOTOR COMPANY : 1.5Turbo engine vehicles failure in cold weather

In September 2017 I bought a brand new Honda CR-V Touring. During December I started having problems with the oil light going on. In January 2018 my Honda came to a standstill in a cloud of white smoke. I would not start again. It started after 2 days. A local car repair shop checked the oil and drained 7,5 liters from the sump!! Should only have 3,6 liters. The car went back to the dealership who ran a diagnostic laptop test saying that nothing is wrong.

I had the oil analyzed by high tech oil analysis lab who identified a lot of abnormally high chemicals and water.

After doing research I discovered that this was a daily problem in Beijing, China. The very cold weather causes increased condensation due to a design flaw in the 1.5 Turbo engine. This causes a few adverse events in the engine, leading to the fluid buildup in the engine. The fluid obviously also has gasoline in it. The worrying thing is the high volume of 'oil' in the sump. If you read at the bottom of page 148 of the Honda CR-V Touring manual booklet, they ( Honda) warn explicitly against too much liquid content in the sump which could damage the engine.

Since February 2018 , Honda China admitted to the problem and recalled 117000 CR-V's and other Honda's with the 1.5Turbo engine. They have added 2 years to the warranty.

The most shocking lesson is that no where can you trust Honda where they sell the 1.5Turbo engine vehicles in very cold climates. They are extremely ********* by not mentioning this to customers for instance in Canada. They have a design flaw as the engine is not suitable to be driven in cold weather.

Do not buy any Honda vehicle if it is powered by the 1.5T engine and the area you live in the temperature drops to -10' C or lower. Very poor service and Honda Canada still not disclosing the truth to the public.
